"Prior to joining SetFocus, I had ZERO working experience as a developer, my previous employment before SetFocus was a tutor.
With the knowledge I obtained from SetFocus’ masters program, I got a great job!
I was able to prepare a set of informational documents of about 4 out of 5 projects I had done while at SetFocus and inserted them into the graduation portfolio and presented them in a clear, understandable manner.
…if we can demonstrate our knowledge clearly to the employers/interviewers; we will gain ourselves of higher percentage of getting hired. I have told 2 of my classmates to do the same; but please let future students about the benefits of preparing such materials.

"Avanade so far has been an incredible experience from a developer’s standpoint. I’m surrounded with some very bright minds in the .NET business, and the particular client that I’m working for has a very interesting project.
The best part of working for Avanade is definitely the people that you’re surrounded with. Being a SetFocus graduate and new to the .NET scene, there is serious “ramp-up” to be done during the early stages in order to be productive. With that said, the ramp-up process is accelerated greatly because you have several resources on-hand , which include fellow developers with significant experience."

"I joined the 9 month program (part-time program) so I didn't leave my job. The training program was one of the best I had. I was able to learn a lot. The instructor was great too.
By the time I started looking for jobs, it wasn't hard to find one. I changed my job even before I finished the training.
For me, I used the training mainly as a good experience in .NET. And employers liked it. One thing to mention, the career services department in Setfocus is pretty good too. You will be receiving job openings and other help long before you come close to graduation.
To give you my general thoughts about Setfocus, I am very glad that I did it. "

Since I couldn't be in the classroom, remote was the only way to do it. I loved the GRID – other online courses are simply not to the extent as what SetFocus has to offer. There are definite advantages to using it. If you are in a situation where you cannot travel due to social or environmental situations, like myself, the GRID is an avenue for you to learn and grow

In the interview, I faced 5 developers who grilled me with questions but I answered them correctly and they made the offer soon after. I had two other offers on the table, as well! Please know that my training at SetFocus allowed me these job opportunities, as well as the last job. I’m working with .NET 3.0 WCSF and AJAX and they love staying on the bleeding edge of technology (Visual Studio Team, WCSF, WCF, AJAX, and SQL2005) and I’m happy here.
