SetFocus Celebrates 10 Years in Business

SetFocus 10 Year Anniversary Extravaganza held

June 9, 2007 Parsippany, NJ – Today marked an exciting milestone for SetFocus, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Learning Solutions (CPLS). The company proudly announced its ten year anniversary and celebrated the momentous occasion with a day dedicated to presentations covering various programming and .NET-related topics. 150 people attended the exciting event – the majority being graduates of the SetFocus Master’s Program. The seminar was then followed by a cocktail hour and reception at which SetFocus alumni were able to reacquaint and reconnect with former classmates, instructors, and colleagues. Presenters during the seminar included two SetFocus instructors, James Arendt and Vito Jokubaitis, as well as Kevin Goff and Don Demsak, two prominent figures in the programming community. The seminar covered such topics as the Future of .NET Programming, .NET 3.0, Studio Team Edition, and Reinventing Visual Basic.

SetFocus has come quite a long way since the company opened its doors back in 1997. Originally training programmers in Visual Basic and Java, SetFocus has continually changed and updated its training model, methods of delivery, and curriculums to stay ahead of the competition in the ever-changing industry of developer training. Presently, SetFocus now offers various .NET , SQL Server, and Business Intelligence focused Master’s Programs during both the day and evening. Robert Witkowski, SetFocus’ Dean of Students, has been with the company for eight years and is proud to stand behind the company’s development and progress over its ten years in business. “It has been exciting to see the ‘Master’s Program’ model evolve over the years - getting better and better each time - and now expanding into other areas of the IT world in order to help the careers of even more people.” He, along with the rest of the staff are eager to see what path the company’s success will take in future years to come.

Finding an exceptional and unique means of training students remotely has been one of the many hurdles that the company has had to overcome during the last ten years. SetFocus found and perfected an incomparable solution to this problem: The GRID®, and exhibited its effectiveness during the 10 Year Anniversary event, as well. Using professional video and audio conferencing equipment, as well as polycom units, people were able to “attend” the event live from all over the country. In fact, one of the speakers, James Arendt, even delivered his presentation via The GRID® from Florida.

The Career Development and Corporate Relations department at SetFocus has also evolved and changed dramatically over the years. After an entire decade in business, SetFocus now has employers and clients vying to become partners of the company, as well as hire SetFocus’ talented graduates.
