SetFocus Specialty Seminar

Introduction to Master Data Management for the Enterprise, presented by CSI - 1 day

Course Registration and Pricing

DESCRIPTION
More complex and demanding business environments are forcing more heterogeneous systems environments. Data integration is required to synchronize master data in order to get a single, consistent view of an enterprise’s core business entities—customers, products, suppliers, and employees. MDM solutions enable enterprise wide master data synchronization. Given that effective master data for any subject area requires input from multiple applications and business units, enterprise master data needs a formal management system. Business approval, business process change, and capture of master data at optimal, early points in the data lifecycle are essential to achieving true enterprise master data.

This course will review MDM concepts, rationales, organization, architecture options, and implementation milestones, yielding best practices for reducing redundancy, duplication, and inconsistency of data.

You will learn:

  • Justification: How MDM has direct business impact through the facilitation of more accurate and timely business decision making and improved application delivery ability, all at a lower cost
  • Responsibilities: How to organize both business and technical roles for the determination and implementation of master data rules
  • Leveraging MDM to effect workflows essential to business process improvement
  • How to take the conformed dimension concept to earlier points in the data lifecycle through MDM architecture choices
  • What offshoots of MDM, including customer data integration (CDI) and product information management (PIM), do for their specialized areas
