Microsoft Certified Professional Developer: MCPDThe Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) credential highlights your job role, featuring your specific area of expertise. Now you can easily distinguish yourself as an expert in Windows Development, Web Application Development, or Enterprise Applications Development. There are currently 3 MCPD certification paths for Visual Studio 2005. For details and specifics on how to earn each credential, click on the MCPD titles below.
Currently MCAD or MCSD? If you currently hold the MCAD or MCSD certification, your credentials continue to be recognized by Microsoft, and you do not need to do anything to maintain them. However, Microsoft recommends that developers who use the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and are currently either MCAD or MCSD consider upgrading to the new Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) credentials.
