Assignment at Vanguard GroupCPAS Conversion ProjectPhiladelphia Region

- Established the new business system as part of the original conversion technical team.  Technical lead for a major client retirement plan which had unique complexities. - Converted the current defined benefits policies to an Oracle based PL-SQL back end, which is a more accessible and scalable software system with a flexible web access.- Oracle PL-SQL development included the full development cycle of functional definition, design, coding and testing.  Worked with a large client team and testing team during the phases of the project.- Wrote PL-SQL stored procedures to add functionality to the PL-SQL business and data layer back end.  Use of Select, Update and Delete to maintain Oracle data for the new system and to debug code.- Troubleshot conceptual and technical issues, interfaced with the third party product technical support and expanded the system where needed.   Issues that were addressed included Web Interface use of the stored procedures, triggers and transactions.

SetFocus LLC
.NET Developer - Master's Program
2006
  • Developed solutions for diverse programming scenarios in C#.NET, employing object–oriented programming concepts such as; encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and abstraction.
  • Used C#.NET and ADO.NET to define and implement secure middle-tier components using both connected and disconnected environment strategies.  Components were consumed by web applications and windows applications utilizing SQL Server and stored procedures to perform logical business transactions.
  • Created and deployed XML Web Services using ASP.NET.  Consumed Web Services from both Windows forms and ASP.NET web applications.
  • Created complex business components in C#.NET using .NET Class Library assemblies while migrating and implementing them in a multi-tier environment suitable for Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) and COM+ to address application infrastructure issues associated with building scalable enterprise level applications used by many clients.
  • Developed a Windows n-tiered “Public Library Management System” application and then ported the application to a dynamic ASP.NET Internet/Intranet model utilizing the same secure middle tier data access components.  Non-public web pages were secured using Windows integrated and ASP.NET forms security models.
  • Created Deployment projects for .NET applications using Microsoft’s MSI packages.
  • As part of a team, designed and developed a multi-tiered IT Recruiter Placement Application, similar to Monster.com web site, with the capabilities to post jobs, search jobs and query reports.  Project included building a Windows based front end interface for managing the system and database.  Created administrative security levels for different users, and wrote stored procedures. Technologies utilized included: C#.NET, SQL Server 2000, Transact-SQL, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services, COM+ and HTML.

Nexans
Sr. Project Engineer
10/2001-6/2005
  • Contributed software engineering and communications expertise to the corporate Competence Center Systems Lab in projects, presentations, papers and real-world studies.
  • Using Visual Studio C++ and the MS MFC Library, developed Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet transceiver simulations providing repeatable test signals for cable comparisons.
  • Integrated MatLab 10Gbase-T transceiver modeling into a real-world professional simulation for testing of signals on copper cable.
  • Provided marketing material based on conducted studies demonstrating that noise immunity performance with Gigabit Ethernet differs on category 5 and category 6 cabling resulting in increased sales of category 6 cable.
  • Voting member of IEEE 802.3, member of 802.3an 10GBase-T task group.

Network Peripherals, Inc
Sr. Software Engineer
5/1999-6/2001
  • Embedded Systems design, develop and testing of TCP/IP Routing for the newly designed Gigabit Ethernet Switch using C++ and the Nucleus real-time operating system.
  • Analyzed and designed a new route cache algorithm, lead code reviews and guided areas of IP routing and congestion as the Level 3 Routing team leader,
  • Integrated a OSPF routing product and fully developed features for the existing TCP/IP networking switch software, which provided sophisticated IP routing to the Gigabit Ethernet switch.
  • Design, code and testing of the IGMP Protocol Layer.  Design of the Frame Relay WAN Interface and development of the SNMP layer for this WAN Interface.
